Background to the single

Here is the first single to be taken from the imagined film soundtracks of "Sound Trax Vol.1".

The mixes: -

1. Flash Gordon Rocketship (Beyond Known Space) (7inch Mix) is a single mix version of the track which will feature on the new LP. This combines 30's out of copyright sci-fi dialogue with electro-pop grooves and a heady mix of synths and synth strings. This version does not feature anywhere else.

2. Alien Nation (On Another Planet) is a track which will feature on the 2nd LP and is a tribute to the 80's feature film featuring James Caan. Again, this has softer synths and strings with a moody background played out of piano and other keyboard styles.

3. Starship Troopers (Bugland) A brand new track which does not appear on either of the Sound Trax LPs. This is another tribute to sci-fi movies, this time the 90's and that marvellous bug destroying film. Lots of hard frenetic synths play across a thumping bassline and military drums. Get those bugs!

4. Flash Gordon Rocketship (Beyond Known Space)[12inch Mix] is a far faster version of the album track and contains more club-like percussion and heavier drums. The synths run in and out of the tune and the dialogue is to the fore in many parts.

5. Westworld (The Creation Of Machine) A different type of feel to this ode to sci-fi robots. Plenty of wordplay from another of the 30's movie dialogue samples. All hail the great Yul Brynner!

PLEASE NOTE: All these tracks are "imagined songs" that might fit an original movie soundtrack and contain no dialogue, music or movie soundtrack action in any way from those films which they are a set as a tribute to.
