Background to the LP

The Groove Avengers are a groovy set of individuals by the name of John Steen and Emma Pill. They are a throwback to the days of 70's funk and soul but with a 00's touch of hip-hop, r n b and some "flava" of house too.

Their music is inspired from many walks of life, Ohio phat sound, New York ghetto funk, South London garage style and even some London drum n bass. They are well-travelled and out to find the hidden groove inside us all. Watch out for The Groove Avengers, they are coming your way!!

The songs are a cross-section of new jazz (Funky Tunes Baby, Tribal Jazz), urban r n b (Bounce (Drop The Beat), Straightrippin'), smooth funky lounge pop (I Love The Jam, Rock, Rock, Rock) soulful house (Inside My Soul, Soulful, She's Strictly Business) and madcap drum n bass (Manhattan Back-Up).
